Kelly Clarkson is paying tribute to her soon-to-be former fellow Voice coach Blake Shelton. Clarkson shared a montage of some of the best memories of Shelton’s visits to The Kelly Clarkson Show, including some of the duo’s classic bickering, must-see games, some of the best interview moments and more.
Shelton is getting ready to kick off his final season on the smash-hit NBC competition show, opting to end his run as the winningest coach on the series. Clarkson will join the “Nobody But You” country star as another coach in season 23, along with Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper. Reba McEntire is also set to join as a Mega Mentor. Shelton recently joked in an interview that, “Kelly finally got me fired. I wanted to announce that here, on the show [Jimmy Kimmel Live]. Kelly Clarkson actually got me fired.”
Shelton announced in October that he would leave The Voice after season 23, saying in a statement at the time, in part: “This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me. ...I’ve made lifelong bonds with Carson (Daly) and every single ons of my fellow coaches over the years, including my wife Gwen Stefani!”
The Voice season 23 is set to premiere on Monday, March 6 at 8/7c and Tuesday, March 7 at 9/8c, per NBC. Shows will be available the following day on Peacock.
