Miranda Lambert shared stunning photos from her ongoing Las Vegas residency, Velvet Rodeo, paying tribute to the “rowdy people,” sharing the experience with her. The award-winning country megastar posted a series of photos on Instagram to capture her dazzling looks, fiery performance, and videos of her career-spanning hits on the Vegas stage.
“Rowdy people are my favorite people. 💙🤠 Had a damn good time last night at Velvet Rodeo,” Lambert wrote in her caption on the photos by Tyler Conrad. One video shows Lambert, donning a jumpsuit with long red fringe flowing from her sleeves, performing “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home),” a collaboration with Elle King that appears on King’s album that released earlier this year, Come Get Your Wife. In another video, sparks fly behind Lambert as she finishes singing 2014’s “Little Red Wagon.”
Lambert, who recently attended fellow country star Carrie Underwood’s Las Vegas residency, kicked off Velvet Rodeo with inspiration from a line in “Actin’ Up,” from Palomino. She said during her exclusive iHeartCountry Album Release show that the name fits because she’s, “built a career on being feminine and still keeping a bada** edge, and I think that’s important and I felt like Velvet Rodeo would encompass that. …Velvet Rodeo) felt like my catalog as a whole, and it’s a line in the new song and it just felt very Vegas to me. …(the venue) felt like a big honky tonk, and that’s really my vibe.”
Lambert recently announced her final Velvet Rodeo residency dates. She’s set to play two more shows this month, and will return to Vegas in March for her final performances.
On Monday (December 11), Lambert also announced a run of shows in her home state, Texas, kicking off in late May. Special guest Wade Bowen will join the “If I Was A Cowboy” star, in addition to Adam Hood, Jake Worthington and Calder Allen on select dates. Lambert will take the stage on May 24, May 25 and May 26 at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels, Texas. See the announcement below.
