Lukas Nelson spoke about his biggest inspirations as he offered a sneak peek of his now-released record, American Romance, when he caught up with Dan and Reid Isbell on a recent episode of God’s Country.
The Isbell brothers said Nelson “shares incredible insight ranging from musical inspirations to his reason behind getting sober in his mid-thirties,” throughout their conversation on the podcast. Nelson, 36, played a rendition of “Make You Happy” from his new 12-track record that arrived on Friday (June 20).

Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast in early January 2024. Some of the first guests to appear on the show include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
